About

Turlock Together began in 1995 with a common desire among the community to serve those in need during the holidays. Businesses, schools, churches, non-profits, fire fighters, city departments, and many other local volunteers gathered together to join forces and serve the community in the best possible way, “TOGETHER”.

The main focus of Turlock Together is the holiday season. Turlock Together provides families the gift of food and toys during the Christmas season, along with a delicious holiday meal on Christmas day.

The process

Volunteers begin raising donations as early as July. Events such as a Canned Tree Breakfast and Auction, and other venues are put on by businesses and the community to help raise donations. During the months of November and December large barrels are distributed throughout town to schools, fire stations, businesses and churches to collect food and toys. In the beginning of December families register for food and toy baskets. The food and toys are collected, sorted, and organized by volunteers at The Turlock Fruit Company in Turlock. The week of Christmas families begin receiving the food and toys which are distributed from the warehouse by community volunteers.  On Christmas day, a delicious meal is served for the community at the Family Center located at the Salvation Army.  Santa is there for free pictures with the children and carnival games are also offered for the children’s enjoyment.

Turlock Together is proud to effectively serve the community every year and continues to grow with new volunteers. It is “TOGETHER” that we can truly make a difference!
